The  Scandinavian Association for the Study of Pain turns 50 years in 2026. On this occasion we celebrate by placing pain in context, addressing the historical, social, psychological, physical and biological environments of chronic pain, pain mechanisms and pain research.

The conference will be held at Solstrand Spa in western Norway, with room and full board included. It is an intimate venue facilitating discussions and networking for two full days.

A refresher course with introductions to pain physiology and measurement, and two workshops covering the use of AI in research and improving presentation skills will be held the day before the conference in Bergen city, at the Haukeland University Hospital Pain Clinic.
